Wansteadium Blitz project, 11 November 1940; Belgrave Road

November 11, 2010 in Wansteadium Blitz project

At ten minutes past midnight on this night in 1940, German bombers dropped high explosives on Belgrave Road, Aldersbrook, injuring one person and leaving a large crater. A few minutes later an oil bomb was dropped on nearby Bushwood Close in Leytonstone, starting a fire which was extinguished with no injuries.
