Last month we introduced Wanstead photographers Marshal Gray and Claudia Carter’s project to chart a whole year in Wanstead. Here is the latest of their photos.
You can see more of their work on their blog.
“The International Space Station whizzing over Wanstead at 17,000 miles an hour on Sunday night – Venus and Jupiter also clearly visible,” writes Wansteadium regular @nutterlane Dan.
Last year Wansteadium featured some stunning photos of Wanstead taken by photographer Gary Lashmar (aka Marshal Gray). He and his partner Claudia Carter are planning to take a Wanstead-related photo every day for a year , and Wansteadium will be featuring a regular selection. Here is the first.
Gary says: “I took two images of this lady. One was candid in which she was straight faced. But as soon as she saw me she gave me the biggest smile ever. It totally melted my heart. Not all folk are as willing to be photographed. I’ll treasure this picture forever.”
A wonderful set of photos of Wanstead, taken last week. The man with the eye for the detail is visiting photographer Richard Chambury; you can see more of his work either at his Flickr streamor at his own website.
Outstanding photographs of Wanstead, taken this week by photographer Gary Lashmar.
Gary says: “I have just moved to the area again after some years with my girlfriend. I am a wedding photographer – although I shoot my weddings somewhat offbeat, in much the same way I shoot my street photography. That’s kind of my default setting.” Anyone wanting to contact Gary can do so via his website, marshalgraystudio.com or on Facebook where you can see more pictures.
And finally, a promise from Wansteadium. Dodging falling conkers turned into a sport of its own thanks to the gusty conditions, leading Wansteadium to conclude that what was missing was a new old tradition of conker-playing on Wanstead Festival day. Wansteadium hereby pledges to campaign for – and support – an inaugural health-and-safety-compliant Christchurch Green Conker Tournament next year. We’ll buy the string.
A CAMPAIGN launched to save a centre that has provided thousands of children from the borough with their first taste of the countryside is rapidly gaining momentum. […]
